Musterring was founded in 1938 by Josef Höner Musterring. The company settled in the German town of Rheda-Wiedenbrück. After the interruption of the Second World War, production was resumed. The first product is a wooden sewing chest, but is quickly followed by high quality furniture at affordable prices. In the 1950s, they took their first steps into the Austrian market. This is the start of expansion, which in the 1970s extends to Japan and Canada.
The great prize
In 1953, the German company received a major award for its bedroom design M49. This was because they sold more than 250,000 copies. They were awarded the prize on the occasion of the exhibition 'One should all live better'.
What vintage design furniture from Musterring can you find?
The collection of Musterring is very diverse and extensive.
The vintage furniture of this company had a sleek Danish design appearance. The sideboards and cabinets mainly have recessed handles or very simple handles. The company mainly used durable materials such as rosewood and elm wood and chromed steel. Pepita Programm designed a beautiful series of elm wood furniture with black metal legs. Including a sideboard and combination of a sideboard and desk in one.
In the 1970s, they started their own quality testing centre. To this day, the company sells Musterring in more than 25 countries.
